Artificial Intelligence in Finance: Opportunities and Challenges

Forum Preamble

The finance sector has undergone a radical transformation with the integration of artificial intelligence, which has revolutionized the field. It has become a key driver of digital transformation, playing a crucial role in big data analysis, market forecasting, and credit assessment with greater accuracy than traditional methods. Furthermore, it has contributed to the development of electronic payment systems and the use of chatbots. This technology began as simple price prediction tools in the 1980s, but today it relies on advanced models such as deep learning, reducing operational costs by up to 30%.

In recent years, the proliferation of generative AI has led to the creation of new tools for market analysis and the generation of customized reports based on unstructured data such as news and social media. Artificial intelligence (AI) in finance offers tremendous opportunities for efficiency and innovation. It helps detect fraud and manage risk by analyzing big data in real time. Furthermore, it reduces human error by performing regulatory checks to ensure compliance, thus mitigating the risk of errors in reporting and financial closing. This, in turn, aids in decision-making to address financial risks. However, AI raises concerns regarding data privacy and cybersecurity, as well as algorithmic biases that could lead to unfair credit decisions.

Given AI's contribution to financial risk management and service improvement, this forum aims to address the following questions: To what extent do limited transparency and security risks hinder the widespread use of AI in financial institutions? And what strategies are needed to reconcile innovation and responsibility in order to build a smart and sustainable financial future? Conference Themes
